Each journey on the Deccan Odyssey is an exploration of India's diversity, exotic locales and discovery of her timeless traditions; where you breathe in the vibrancy, sounds and colours of India's cities and her countryside. Mysteries, intrigues unfold as the train snakes her way through royal cities showcasing the opulence and extravagance of the palaces, the traditions and culinary wonders of cities and villages well protected from the sands of time.
 
Where else would you find a UNESCO heritage site, a superlative vineyard, tigers & lions lazing in the sun baked stretches of wild brush, a palace residence, warm dazzling beaches & cool tranquil backwaters… only in amazing India !

  • Any cancellation must be advised in writing.
  • No cancellation charge if cancelled  60 days prior to the departure date
  • Retention of 25% of ticket value on cancelling 59 – 45 days prior to the departure date
  • Retention of 60% of ticket Value on cancelling 44 – 30 days prior to the departure date

1. Maharashtra Splendor (Mumbai to Mumbai) – 8 Days / 7 Nights Mumbai - Nashik – Aurangabad (Ellora Caves) – Ajanta Caves - Kolhapur -Goa- Sindhudurg –Mumbai
 
Day 01 This evening, arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and board your train on a mesmerizing voyage through the Maratha heartland.
 
Day 02 Arrive in Nashik and proceed for a Champagne tour followed by lunch.
 
Day 03 Proceed to visit Ellora Caves, a World Heritage site. A unique artistic creation, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.
 
Day 04 Arrive at Jalgaon railway station and drive to Ajanta Caves, a World Heritage site. These magnificent caves have exquisite ancient murals and sculptures that depict the life of Buddha.
 
Day 05 Arrive at Kolhapur, a multifaceted city with a mythical past. Visit the New Palace, the Mahalaxmi Temple and the Town Hall museum. Witness a traditional martial arts performance known as “Mardani Khel”.
 
Day 06 Arrive in Goa, known for its beaches, churches, and temples. Take a tour of Old Goa, visiting the ruins of St. Augustine Church and the Basilica of Bom Jesus. Walk through the old Latin Quarters known as Fontainhas.
 
Day 7 – Arrive in SIndhudurg which lies on a rocky island just off the coast of Malvan Day 08 Arrive at Mumbai, where your journey comes to an end.

2. Indian Odyssey (Delhi to Mumbai) - 8 Days / 7 Nights
Delhi – Sawai Madhopur - Agra - Jaipur - Udaipur - Vadodara –Aurangabad (Ellora Caves) – Mumbai
 
Day 01 Board the train at the Delhi railway station and begin your enchanting journey, heading to the home of Tigers – Ranthambore.
 
Day 02 Arrive at Sawai Madhopur and spend a day in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, once the private hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur. Enjoy adventurous morning safari at the Reserve. Followed by a village safari in the afternoon
 
Day 03 Today the train arrives at the Mughal citadel of Agra. Visit the iconic Taj Mahal, and other architectural gems of the Mughal Empire; the Itmad-ud-Daullah and the impressive Agra Fort.
 
Day 04 Arrive at the historic capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur, often called the Pink City. Explore the forts and palaces with a walk through the colorful bazaars of this beautiful city.
 
Day 05 Arrive at the princely city of Udaipur. Visit the famous City Palace which houses the spectacular Crystal Gallery followed by an enthralling walk through the quaint streets of the Old City. This afternoon, be treated to a lavish lunch of local specialties at an exquisite venue.
 
Day 06 Today you arrive at the Royal city of the Gaekwads, Vadodara. Visit the famous Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, a World Heritage site, the magnificent Jami Masjid and the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. Witness a scintillating folk dance performance, as you savour a wide array of delicacies from the Royal kitchens at the Laxmi Vilas Palace.
 
Day 07 Proceed to visit Ellora Caves, a World Heritage site. A unique artistic creation, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.

4. Jewels of the Deccan (Mumbai to Mumbai) – 8 Days / 7 Nights

Day 01 Board the train at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and begin your enchanting journey to Bijapur.
 
Day 02 Arrive at the historic capital of the Sultans of the Deccan, Bijapur. Explore the citadel, visiting its beautiful buildings and tombs.
 
Day 03 This morning visit the superlative Chalukyan temples of Aihole and Pattadakal and compare the differences in the sculpting work between the temples and the two locations built in successive time periods.
 
Day 04 Today the train reaches Hospet. Visit the iconic City of Victory, Hampi. Explore the sacred and royal centers, palaces and impressive temples.
 
Day 05 This morning disembark in the royal city of the Nizams – Hyderabad. First head to Golconda Fort, built in the 13th century capital, then becoming the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty and a spot where huge diamonds like the Kohinoor and Hope were mined. In the evening, visit the famous Charminar, walk through bustling and colorful streets. Enjoy a special evening in the royal city.
 
Day 06 Proceed to visit Ellora Caves, a World Heritage site. A unique artistic creation, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.

CHILD POLICY
  • Deccan Odyssey does accommodate children but we ask parents to be mindful of the sophisticated adult atmosphere we endeavor to maintain.
  • One child up to 5 years of age shall be allowed free of cost in the Deluxe Cabin, subject to sharing of double bed with parents. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.
  • For families, with a child between 6-12 years of age, or, with two children with one child below 5 years and another between 6-12 years, we recommend the Presidential Suite which has a double bed in the bedroom and can be shared with a child below 5 years and a sofa cum bed in the living room which can accommodate the older child. In this case, the child/children will be accommodated free of cost.
  • In case of two children between 6-12 years of age travelling with their parents, you will have to take 2 cabins. The first child pays 25% of the adult fare and the second child will have to pay 50% of  the adult fare. One of the parents will have to be present with the child / children in the cabin.
  • Please note that we do not have the facility for interconnecting cabins.
  • All applicable taxes will be charged extra.
